Keeping your skin tip-top

Good day to you all!

I hope you are all well and having a lovely day.
Now throughout this time of the year, I prefer to not wear so much make up as it’s summer, it’s hot and I want my skin to get the most of the sun so wearing make up everyday is not ideal for many people in summer! I thought that because now it’s getting a little warmer and people like you will want your skin nice and flawless for your summer holiday, doing a blog post on how to keep your skin lovely and ready for summer would be a nice little idea, so that’s what I’m doing!

H2o:
When my skin is looking tired, stressed and overall dire, I turn straight to water. It improves your skin huge amounts, the results of drinking more water are pretty much instant. The skin improves so much by upping your water intake, it looks plumper and brighter. If you’re skin is looking like described above, water is your answer. Try and have the recommended 2 litres of water a day to make your skin much healthier. You will notice such a difference so quickly which is great!

CLEANSING:
Cleansing is a must whatever time of the year, but in summer I feel that it should be at the top of your skincare list. Whether you were wearing makeup that day or not, cleansing is a definite yes and it must always be a part of your skin regime. Cleansing your face in the morning helps wake you and your skin up and prepares you both for the day. It gets any excess dirt of that was missed the night before and any dirt that your skin has gained throughout the night. At night, cleansing is the biggest part of your skin care routine as this removes make up and dirt from your face. I swear by cleansing as it keeps my skin clean and fresh as well as taking off your make up.

TONING:
Toning is important, although I don’t tend to tone very often, it’s an important step to miss because it gets deep into your skin and really cleans it. You must tone after you have cleansed and this really makes your skin feel so much healthier and happier. I prefer to tone at night (if I do) because you skin collects much more dirt throughout the day than the night.

MOISTURISING:
Moisturising is a massive part of your skincare regime, this puts all the moisture back in your skin and stops your skin going dry, chapped and flakey. I love moisturising as it makes my skin feel all dewy and hydrated again. You mustn’t miss this step in skin care as it is so so important and must be done. You can get day and night creams or just  face creams that you can use morning and night time.

EYE CREAM:
I swear by eye creams and roll ons to keep my dark circles at bay. They totally do the job! As the skin under you eye is delicate and sensitive, it’s always a good idea to use a special eye cream instead of basic face moisturiser.

MASKS:
Masks are a great way to rejuvenate your skin after a hard week. Using a mask once or twice is enough to make your skin feel brighter and awake again, give yourself one night a at weekend to have a full on pamper and once a week whilst sitting watching telly or finishing off an assessment that has to be in by tomorrow, apply a 5 minute mask to sort out your skin so it’s able to fix itself out for the next day. Masks make your skin feel so much smoother and healthier so quickly which is fantastic.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a skincare professional, these are just things I like to do to keep my skin nice. Other skin types will prefer other skincare products. You do not have to do the things I do and please do not think that I am a profession because I’m not. I just like to write posts like this for you to enjoy and of course I enjoy writing them. These are just the ways that work for me and my skin.

Thank you very much :)

(P.S. to help, I have mainly oily skin and a bit of dry skin so I have combination skin I guess!)
